Alan had enjoyed many years of use from this armchair. It had been re-upholstered twice before and contained the original foam, which had totally disintegrated. The chair was taken back to the frame and completely rebuilt. The seat was replaced with a new spring unit, and new, plump cushions were made to ensure the highest levels of comfort.

Wishing to keep to a similar colour palette and liking William Morris fabrics, the chair was recovered in Morris & Co’s Borage fabric in sunflower colourway.
